TO TITHE TODAY IS FALSE PRACTICE Mar 25, 2010 9:27 am

THIS IS A REPOST

It appears that in response to my Blog on tithing; that no one wants to take the time, to research the subject; in order to find answers. So, even though I didn't want to have to give the answers myself; it looks like thats what I'm going to have to do. What is legalism ? Legalism can be defined; as a fleshly attitude , which conforms to a code; in order to exalt self( Chuck Swindal).

This study has been condensed, I don't want to make it so long that others won't read it.

Have you ever heard a person who thinks he tithes; say something like, " I'm blessed because I tithe." Thats self exalting. Sometimes a tither will say to a person who doesn't tithe, " God won't bless you because you don't tithe." Thats telling the non-tither he needs to conform to a code.

The Word God, the Bible; is a book of redemptive history. When studied ( not just read ), it must be studied in it's historical and grammatical context. If you simply read the Bible; like you would any ordinary book, you do it ( the Bible ) and yourself a great disservice. Keeping that in mind lets look at the four questions, and their answers.

1. What was tithed ?
We find the answer to the first question in Lev. 27:30-32

" And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree,is the LORD'S. It is holy to the LORD. If a man wants at all to redeem any of his tithe, he shall add one-fifth to it. And concerning thetithe of herd or flock,of whatever passes under the rod, the tenth one shall be holy to the LORD" NKJV

It is clear from the above text that the tithe consisted of food. All of the food grown from the seeds planted in the ground; or food which came from the herds and flocks raised by the Israelites. What's so hard about that ? Well, even though its clear from the text; that the tithe was food, some would have us believe, that since Christians don't have farms; that we are to substitute money for food. But can we do that ? Can we take that kind of liberty with God's Word ? Keeping with the historical context thetithe must remain food More so, if Christ didn't change the law ( Matt. 5:1), what gives us the right to ?

If Lev. 27:30-32 doesn't make it clear enough Duet. 14:22,23 should.

" You shall truly tithe all theincrease of your grain that the field produces year to year. And youshall eatbefore the LORD your God, in the place where He chooses to make His name abide, the titheof your grainand yournew wine and your oil, of the firstborn of your herbs and flocks, that you may learn to fear the LORD your God Always." NKJV ( emphasis mine)

If thats not food ! What is ? This gets better. Have you ever heard a preacher say, the reason the Jews tithed food was because they didn't have money, like we do today. In the same chapter (14) we find something interesting. The LORD commanded Israel, that if the place He chooses to place His name; was too far for them; to carry their tithes. That they could exchange ( sell ) the tithe for money; then carry the money, to that place he had chosen, and buy back the tithe; when they arrived there, and enjoy it before the LORD.

" But if the journey is too long for you, so that you are not able to carry the tithe, or if the place where the LORD your God chooses to put His name is too far from you, when the Lord your God has blessed you, then you shall exchange it for money, take themoneyin your hand, and go to the place which the LORD your God chooses. And you shallspend that moneyfor whatever your heart desires; for oxen or sheep, for wine or similar drinkfor whatever your heart desires; you shalleatthere before the LORD your God, and you shall rejoice, you and your household." (emphasis mine) NKJV

This is the only time which money is mentioned in relation to the tithe. The money which they had at that time; wasn't minted as we have today but they definitely had money.

2. Who received the tithe ?
We find the answer to the second question in Lev. 18:21-24

Since the Levites did not get an inheritance of land, and because they were responsible for maintaining the tabernacle. The Jews were commanded to support them with a tithe.

" Behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tithes in Israel as an inheritance in return for the work which they perform, the work of the tabernacle of meeting ..... For the tithes of the children of Israel, which they offer up as a heave offering to the LORD, I have given to the Levites as an inheritance, therefore I have said to them, ' Among the children of Israel they shall have no inheritance.' " NKJV

If you read on; you'll find that even the Levites were required to tithe, a tithe of the tithe; the best of the tithe ( the best of all of them ) and give it to the priest ( v.28 ). so, its clear the tithe was received by the Levites, in support the Levites as well as the priest. In the Christian church we have no need to support any type of Levitical priesthood, there is no tabernacle and no storehouse. Christ has received a ministry that is superior to that of the Levites; because he is the mediator of a superior covenant(Heb.8:6). Whats puzzling, is why some have turned to a system that didn't work for Israel expecting to be blessed.

Anyone who understands the concept of covenant; should know not to rely on a covenant that brings a curse rather than a blessing.

" You are cursed with a curse, for you have robbed Me, Even the whole nation. Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may befood in My house." Mal. 3:9-10a (emphasis mine)

Looking at this verse in its historical context, we see that the curse was applicable to the nation of Israel, and there is no storehouse to take the tithe to ( the local church is not the storehouse). However, in the New Testament we see a curse of a different kind (much more severe), a warning to those who attempt to keep any part of the law(Gal. 3:10). If you try to keep any part of the law; you must keep it all( some 613 commandments).

3. What was the tithe used for ?

There were three tithes. The Levitical, the celebration, and the welfare tithe. There should be no question as to the primary use of the tithe. However, there was also a special 3rd year tithe, which included the less fortunate (Duet.26:12,13). This special tithe was the only one that didn't have to be taken to the sanctuary. Instead it was stored within the individual cities, and used to feed those with special needs.

4. Where did the tithe have to taken ?

In order to determine the place where the tithe had to be taken; all we need to do is follow the various locations, starting with the tabernacle ( at Sinai ); to the building of the temple. The tabernacle was erected in several temporary locations, Kadesh, Gilgal, Possibly Shechem, Shiloh and Gibeon. Gibeon became the place of sacrificial worship until the time of Solomon. After the erection of the temple in Jerusalem; the temple superseded the tent of meeting( tabernacle ); as the place of worship, to offer sacrifices, and bring the tithe. Years before the building of the temple; the LORD gave strict instructions to the Israelites to be sure to take their offerings to this new place He would choose to put His name ( Duet. 12:5,6 ).

" But you shall seek the place where the LORD your God chooses, out of all your tribes, to put His name for His dwelling place; and there you shall go. There you shall take your burnt offerings, your sacrifices, your tithes, the heave offerings of your hand, your vowed offerings, your freewill offerings, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks." NKJV

In verses 8- 12 they are warned not to do whatever seamed right in their own eyes. The LORD then repeats His commands ( v.13 ) ......

" Take heed to yourselves that you do not offer your burnt offerings in every place that you see; but in the place which the LORD chooses, in one of your tribes, there you shall offer your burnt offerings, and there you shall do all that I command you."

Now, if the Lord warned Israel not to do what seemed right in their own eyes, and if He established the only place where offerings ( which included the tithe ); could be taken. What makes Christians today think they can change the location, to any place that seems right to them ( anywhere other than Jerusalem ) ?

So, is it legalistic to teach tithing ? We have examined several places which clearly describe the tithe as part of the law. Jesus Himself taught, that tithing is part of the law ( Matt. 23:23 ); ( which was put in a negative context ) and the writer of the book of Hebrews also relates the tithe to the law.

" And indeed those who are of the sons of Levi, who received the priesthood, have a commandment to receive tithes from the peopleaccording to the law, that is from their brethren, though they have come from the loins of Abraham." Heb. 7:5

Just as a side note. Many will say that tithing is not legalistic because Abraham tithed to Melchizedek ( before the law was given ). For the sake of shortening this BLOG, I'm going to briefly show; that its not wise to appeal to Abraham in support of the tithe. The problem with that is found in Gen. 17:9-11.

" And God said to Abraham: " As for you, you shall keep My covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations. This is My covenant which you shall keep, between Me and you and your descendants after you: Every male child among you shall be circumcised and you shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskins, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between Me and you." NKJV

In verse 13; God declares this covenant to be an everlasting covenant. So, was Abraham circumcised before the law was given at Mt. Sinai or after ? It was before. What is the Torah ? The Torah comprises the first five books of the Bible, and all five books are refereed to as the law. Any one who wants to appeal to Abraham for teaching Christians; we're suppose to tithe, must also ( to be consistent ) teach Christian males to be circumcised. How can you, on one hand teach Christians; they should be tithing, and on the other hand neglect to teach circumcision ?

See what happens when you attempt to keep only certain parts of the law. You become guilty of preaching a different gospel ( mixing law and grace ), and come under an ecclesiastical curse. Gal. 1:6-9

How then are Christians suppose to support the church, and those who serve in the church ? Clearly not by tithing. Paul gives us great insight; into the manner in which those who serve in ministry are to be supported ( 1 Cor. 9:11-13 ), and their right to receive such support ( 1 Cor. 9:14 ). Yet, Paul refused such material support ( v. 15 ) for himself; because he felt so compelled to preach the gospel, voluntarily ( free of charge ) not using 9 or abusing 0 his rights for preaching ( vv. 15-18 ). That's having a real passion for preaching the gospel, a willingness to preach the good news of Christ ; without expecting to receive a salary from it.

Today, there aren't many churches where you'll find pastors; who don't expect to receive a salary for preaching. Some are paid astronomical yearly salaries ( 100,000.00 to over 1,000,000,000.00 ) Where's the passion in that ? At one time I attended a church that didn't take up a collection ( by passing a plate ) at all. Instead they had two cedar boxes near the entrance of the church. Members simply dropped their offerings into those two boxes, ( without putting their names on envelopes ), and they collected ( in a 3 year period ) enough money to run the affairs of the church for ten years ! And all that was done without teaching the members they had to tithe. What's stopping other churches from doing the same ?

" So let each man give as he purposes in his own heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver." 2 Cor. 9: 7

That's not a tithe.........is it ?

HEALTH CARE REFORM PASSES IN HOUSE..........NOW WHAT ? Mar 22, 2010 11:07 am
1664 Views
I can't help but to see this whole " Health Care " debate, as class warfare. You know the rich against the poor. The fear of this bill passing, has some declaring that this is the beginning of " Socialism " ( though I don't believe that's absolutely true ). Tempers flared as demonstrators ( tea party members ) held signs which read:

" Disobedience to tyranny is obedience to God ", and " Obamacare (equals) death warrant for grandma."

Another protester's sign read: "If you want health care, you go and get health care or work for it."

Some spit on congressmen as they walked by, on their way to vote, and others yelled racist terms ( such as the infamous N....word ) showing their hatred ( not only of the bill ). Even on the " House " floor, a Republican yelled out " baby killer " at Bart Stupack ( a leader of Democrats against abortion ); as he spoke in opposition to the Republican motion to recommit. This a just the beginning of the abusive heckling, I'm waiting for the fist fights to start.

I hate to say this ( not really ) but too many Christians have been caught up in this, and have been duped buy the Republican Party into thinking that it ( i.e. Republican party ) is the party for Christians ( or for Christian standards ). It's not !! But the Republicans are proficient at stirring up strife, and fooling some Christians into supporting them.

I stated out saying that this is class warfare, and here is partly why I believe this to be true. I listen to a lot of conservative talk radio. One of the things which is said over and over again; is that anyone who voted for Obama should have their right to vote taken away because they're stupid, having gone to government ( public ) schools. There is a constant barrage of this kind of rhetoric, and to believe that the right to vote, should be taken away; because you attended and graduated from a public school, is in itself stupid. How many voting Republicans graduated from public schools ? Should their right to vote be taken away as well ?

How smart is this ?

" Disobedience to tyranny is obedience to God ", and " Obamacare (equals) death warrant for grandma."

Is that the Christian response ?

"If you want health care, you go and get health care or work for it."

Again, how smart is this ? Those who have lost there jobs ( due to no fault of their own ), can't just go out and get health insurance. They don't have jobs. If you have a family, and lose your job ( some employers will continue to cover you a month or so ) you're on your own. Are these people displaying the proper Christian response ? As Christians, are we to simply say to those without, " get better, I'll pray for you. " Or are we to do what we can to help ?

I ended up in the hospital. The infection wouldn't clear up, so I had to get surgery on my hand. Top top it off; they found I had a pulmonary embolism ( blood clots in the lung ). Now I'm on blood thinners. The doctor said it was a good thing I had the problem with the hand, because I could have just keeled over and died.

WHO IS RONALD L. DART ? Dec 25, 2009 6:05 am
1796 Views
The following is a copied & pasted article on Ronald L. Dart. Its kind of long; but take the time to read it. You may be surprised.

Christian Radio and TV Promotes Armstrongism

1. The Inspiration Network is now airing another Armstrong splinter group. They took the Church of God International's program Armor of God off, now they have the Living Church of God's program Tomorrow's World. This program airs on Saturday.
They teach Armstrong doctrine as indicated on page 1 of their official statement of fundamental beliefs. I have again informed Inspiration Network.

2. The United Church of God AIA's program Beyond Today airs on KGMS 940 AM, Tucson, Arizona. What do they teach? Just read from one of their readers concerning their Good News magazine.
"I have received and read the last two issues of the "Good News." It is very encouraging to see the same teachings that Christ restored to His church through Herbert W. Armstrong in your publications" (United News, Vol. 4, No. 7, September 14, 1998 ).

The program airs on Saturday at 10:30 a.m., right after Dave Hunt's program "According to God's Word." As you can see the UCGAIA still teach Armstrong doctrine, no Trinity, the Holy Spirit is not the Third Person in the Triune Godhead, Jesus is not the Eternal Son, but because the Son, Jesus rose in a spirit-body, not physical read this on the web "Who is God"

No heaven, hell, teach annihilationism, soul-sleep, Jesus bled to death on the cross, Sabbath, law on and on. They have changed a little on the born again issue. But they still agree with HWA that Jesus is John 3:1-8 is teaching spirit resurrection, "born of the Spirit." See their study paper on Born Again on their website. They also deny the believers' physical fleshy resurrection. (First Resurrection) They teach three resurrections. They still teach Anglo-Israelism. I sent an email to the GM at KGMS, Doug Martin, as well as one of the Program Director, Matt Mains on December 28, 2005, and a seven page follow-up letter documenting many of the UCG unorthodox teachings, on February 27, 2006. Still no response.

4. The Church of God International air their program Armor of God on The Word Network located in Southfield, Michigan. I left messages with the program director and VP. No return calls.

5. Ronald L. Dart's program Born to Win airs on many, many Christian stations. Dart is on many stations owned by The Crawford Broadcasting Company. One of the most popular stations that air Dart is KBRT 740 in Costa Mesa, California. KBRT has well known evangelical teachers on such as Drs. J. Vernon McGee, David Jeremiah, James Dodson, Woodrow Kroll, D. James Kennedy, and the late beloved Adrian Rogers programs, June Hunt, Greg Koukl, among others. On right before Calvary Chapel La Mirada, is Ronald L. Dart's program Born to Win. Again I ask WHERE'S THE DISCERNMENT! Born to Win airs at 9:30 a.m. Sundays. Other Crawford stations airing Dart are KLTT-AM 670, Denver, CO; KKPZ-AM 1330, Portland, OR; WDCX-FM 99.5, Buffalo, NY; WXJC-AM 850, Birmingham, AL; KCBC-AM 770, San Francisco, CA; KAAM-AM 770, Irving, TX.

Ronald L. Dart's program also airs on the following Salem Communications stations: WYLL-AM 1160, Chicago, IL; WGKA-AM 920, Atlanta, GA; KPXQ-AM 1360, Phoenix, AZ; and WBTK-AM 1380, Richmond, VA.
Other Christian stations that air Born to Win are KNOF-FM 95.3, St. Paul, MN; WJYI-AM 1340, Milwaukee, WI; KLGO-FM 99.3, Taylor, TX; KARI-AM 550, Blaine, WA, and many other stations in Washington and throughout the U.S.

Many of Dart's doctrinal beliefs/teachings are not within Christian orthodoxy. Dart denies the blessed Trinity. He states, "As for the Trinity, the doctrine cannot be found in the Bible. Man reasoned his way to the Trinity, and I find myself unable to embrace that on the basis of what I understand in the Scriptures" (Letter to me, November 18, 1998, p. 1). In this letter and another dated December 9, 1998, Dart denies many Cardinal doctrines of the Christian faith. Mr. Dart states, "The word 'Trinity' is not in the pages of your Bible, so what lies behind the widely held belief of a mysterious, incomprehensible, Triune God?" (Ron Dart, Bible Correspondence Course, Lesson Four www.abcog.org/lesson4.htm, this website is also another Armstrong splinter group.) From lesson four Dart denies that the Holy Spirit is a person in the Godhead. Dart recently published a book The Lonely God. In it he denies the Trinity. Hopefully, Christians will not order this book through their Christian bookstore.

6. The resurrected body of Jesus. What Dart means by body is not what orthodox Christianity means by body. I personally wrote and asked Dart some questions concerning Jesus' Resurrection. His answers were very equivocal concerning the physical, fleshy, bodily resurrection of our Lord Jesus.

Mr. Dart wrote me December 9, 1998 the following. "It is obviously very important to evangelical Christianity. Perhaps you can explain to me the significance of whether Jesus was raised in spirit form or raised bodily." Dart's asking for an "explanation of the significance of whether Jesus was raised in spirit form or raised bodily" seems to show his ignorance of the Bible and Christian theology. Dart believes Jesus was raised as a spirit being. "Jesus is the first to have the 'new life form,' to be a spirit-being and to enter into God's kingdom from the dead" (tape Rev 1-2). You can see the Armstrong teaching here, and Dart's teaching on born again. Another tape from Dart's ministry says "Jesus Return to his Pre-human form" (Tape 99LTS, I Love to Tell the Story).

It should also be noted that Dart denies the physical, fleshly bodily resurrection of Christians.
His teaching is in reference to being born again. He, like Armstrong, doesn't believe you can be born again in this life. "But the moment when we are born again is the moment of the resurrection of the dead, when you are changed from flesh to spirit" (letter December 9, 199. It is said that when John Wesley was asked why he preached so often on the subject "Ye must be born again" that he answered, "Because you must be born again." Wesley's definition of the new birth, however, would never satisfy Dart, or any of the many Armstrong splinter groups, because their teachings are that you cannot be "born again."

Dart's teaching concerning John 3:1-8, he states, "Here Jesus is talking about the resurrection when you are changed from flesh to spirit ... at the resurrection people who are born of the spirit are like ghosts." ... "A resurrection you and I hope for is not sinews, and bones and flesh, it is spirit." ... "We're put in the grave a human being, we're raised a god." ... "We all will become spirit beings." (Tapes 8109, 9121, 79F8, Immortality of the Soul, Can Man Become God? Shadows and the Great Last Day.)
Dart's tape Can Man Become God? and his October 1, 1999 newsletter, shows that he continues to be an admirer of Herbert W. Armstrong. In this tape he favorably quotes Armstrong five times, makes a clear connection between his theology and that of Herbert W. Armstrong. Dart even credits him as the source of the teaching man can become God. Hell is made a joke in this tape, as well as Mr. Dart characterizing the orthodox view of the believer's position as being a "spiritual lapdog" more observations could be made concerning this topic.

7. Dart denies the biblical doctrine of hell. He teaches annihilationism. He also denies the immortality of the soul, teaches the doctrine of soul-sleep, the believer does not go to be with Christ at death, denies Jesus died on the cross, he like the Jehovah Witnesses believe the stake doctrine.
Dart still thinks that Garner Ted Armstrong "knew the Bible as well as any man I have ever known ... and he was gifted of God." (Tape 0338, September 20, 2003, "The Indispensable Man"). I ask how could Ronald L. Dart make such a statement when Garner Ted Armstrong (besides his person life), denied and attacked many of the orthodox doctrines of the Christian faith, calling them pagan, false, and Satan's greatest deception.

Dart is a former Baptist who attended Hardin Simmons University, a Baptist affiliated college to prepare for the ministry as a pastor, even preaching in some of the local Baptist churches. During this time Dart would have discussions about the teachings of Herbert W. Armstrong with his wife's brother who himself was a former Baptist, but then a member of the Radio Church of God (the original name of the Worldwide Church of God). While reading material and listening to both Herbert W. and Garner Ted Armstrong's The World Tomorrow radio program, Dart became convinced that, "Things we were being told by Herbert W. Armstrong had the ring of truth, and God was working through Mr. Armstrong, and our heart followed." Dart states, "We've [he and his wife] finally came to the place where we had had it with the Baptist church, we knew it was not right. I wanted to be in God's college." In 1958, Mr. Dart left Hardin Simmons to attend Ambassador College in Pasadena, California, and joined Herbert W. Armstrong's Church (tapes 7804, 7800, 00 APT, "Faith Without Compromise," "Called of God," And A Personal Testimony). Dart became very influential in the Worldwide Church of God, and reported directly to Mr. Armstrong. Dart left the church with Garner Ted Armstrong in 1978 and became Vice President of the Church of God International with Garner Ted Armstrong as President. Dart left CGI in 1995 to form CEM.

Many groups have splintered from the Worldwide Church of God. Dart's niche in this Armstrongite scene is one of "tolerance." That is, he differs from Herbert W. Armstrong in this way: Armstrong used a very strong, adversarial approach to pry people away from the Christian churches (for example, by calling the Protestant churches the daughters of the Great Whore and the churches of Satan). Armstrong also claimed that his church was the only true church and the only place where salvation could be found. Dart, on the other hand, says he is tolerant of others' beliefs. But he reveals his hand when he says that he is willing to let others make their own mistakes. He does not consider that others might be right. He simply takes a smoother approach. It is difficult to know when listening to Dart's Born to Win radio program that his beliefs are very different from orthodox Christianity. He woos his listeners rather than beats them over the head. A publicity statement for Dart that is intended to be positive (but to me sounds scary), says, "People around the world have become addicted to Ron's intimate Bible studies."

Although there are some details in Ron Dart's teachings that differ from the old Herbert Armstrong teachings of the Worldwide Church of God, just as there are differences between all of the Armstrongite groups. Dart is still without question an Armstrongite.

Regarding Ron Dart being on Christian radio, I believe in free speech and freedom of the press. Ron Dart has a right to be on the air&emdash;on secular radio stations, just as was Herbert Armstrong. We would then have to counter his teachings with the truth. But I believe that there is a relationship of trust between a Christian radio station and its listeners. Listeners expect Christian radio to be Christian. Christian stations should hold those who broadcast on them to a standard of the basic tenets of Christianity. I believe we would agree that a station that called itself Christian, but was broadcasting programs that espoused the tenets of Hinduism was violating the trust its listeners place in it. The same would be true of a Christian station airing Jehovah's Witnesses programs. I think we would agree that a line must be drawn somewhere. But where? Certainly, it must at least be drawn at the basic tenets of Christianity. The problem is that Ron Dart is not on our side of that line, yet he is airing his program, Born to Win on a great many Christian stations. In order to get onto Christian radio stations, Ron Dart has learned to be less sensational and more subdued than Herbert W. Armstrong. He also chooses to discuss less theologically controversial subjects on the air. These he only introduces later in his literature and tapes. Therefore, when the listening audience hears a program such as Born to Win on KBRT and other Christian stations, they are even more vulnerable to being hooked into the organization behind it because they have their guard down.

Is there something you can do? Yes, you can contact Christian TV such as Inspiration Network (airing the Living Church of God), and radio stations that air Born to Win, and other Armstrong splinter groups, and tell them you are aware of the program's connection to Armstrongism, that you are offended they would air such a program, and that you will stop listening to their station if they do not cancel the program.
Freedom of speech protects pseudo-Christian groups' rights to buy airtime on secular radio and television. But the FCC agrees that Christian stations can legitimately establish criteria based on their religious beliefs that program producers must meet. There is a relationship of trust between Christians and Christian radio and television stations that the programs they air are produced by groups that a least meet the basic criteria of orthodoxy. Otherwise, we will soon have more Armstrong groups, Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, and other counterfeit Christian organizations using Christian stations to draw unsuspecting listeners into their folds.

UPDATE: Many Christian stations are realizing Ronald L. Dart is not orthodox. His program Born to Win has been cancelled from many stations. Also the Church of God Modesto's program The Wonderful World Tomorrow has been cancelled from many Christian stations. God bless these Brothers and Sisters who take a stand for orthodoxy.

Until He Comes,

THIS IS A REPOST

If you've been shopping for anything in your life-time, then you've either purchased something that came with a warranty; or perhaps the salesman talked you into buying an extended warranty.

Whatever the case warranties are only as good as the company behind them, and sometimes they're not worth the paper they're written on. I once had a window salesman, tell me about the great windows his company made and that they came with a LIFETIME warranty. How long would you expect a LIFETIME warranty to last ?

Well, I didn't buy the windows ( even after I was pressured to sign ); because they were too expensive, and I didn't like the fact that the salesman; wouldn't leave my house, until I signed the agreement.

I'm glad I didn't buy those windows; because the window company went out of business ( in my lifetime ), and was sued. Sometimes men make promises they can't keep, and sometimes by no fault of there own.

As far as lifetime warranties go; I only know of one person who stands behind His guarantee to keep us safe with His gift of salvation. You don't have to read between the lines or worry about the fine print. His Word is good forever. AMEN !!!

" To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy-

to the only God our savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen ".

CHRISTMAS & SANTA Dec 13, 2009 8:56 am

As Christmas approaches, children await the arrival of Santa, with his big bag of goodies and toys. I can remember how excited I use to get about the arrival of Santa, and all of the gifts under the tree. I believed in Santa......until I found out the truth.

My question is, as Christian parents ( with young children ), what should we be teaching our children about Christmas and Santa ? Is it wrong; or is it harmless ? Just the other night, while watching the news, an organization which helps collect gifts ( toys ), for the less privileged children in the community was vandalized. The reporter asked one of the children how it made him feel ? The child responded, " Santa knows who did it. "

By the way......that drawing is of the real Santa.

RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE....WHAT IS IT ? Oct 14, 2009 12:19 pm

Once again, there are those here; who feel the need to warn new comers, to BC, to be careful of the protestants; because they will tear your beliefs ( and you ) apart. I'm sure these people ( who claim to be Christians by the way ) believe they mean well; but are they being obedient to Christ by warning non-Christians, to watch-out for the Protestants ? After all, aren't Christians suppose to warn those who are trusting in something, other than Christ alone for their salvation, to trust only in Him ?

When a new blogger ( a Roman Catholic ) post on the subject of " TWELVE STEPS TO AVOID PURGATORY ", what should be the Christian's response ?

1. Look the other way.

2. Agree with the subject.

3. Accept the individual as a brother ( or sister ).

4. Encourage the individual to keep on believing, whatever he ( or she ) believes; because we're all one big happy family.

5. Explain to the person that no such place exist.

I know it's a dirty job.......but somebody has to do it.

P.S. TWELVE STEPS........now where have I heard that before ?
