how great a salvation! Aug 15, 2010 10:57 pm

how great a salvation was the topic of the sermon at church today! it was amazing! my younger brother went forward and rededicated his life to serving the Lord today, and his wife went forward to request membership in our church. i was so very happy and proud of them both!
one of my 7 year old nieces stayed in town with me today, so she could go to the evening service. we have a 50 mile commute to church, and 50 miles home again...so, it is better that we stay in town and save a couple trips! anyway, she has been staying with me more and more on sundays...and i can see her growth in the Lord more because of it...even though she is only 7 years old! it is rather fun to watch her growing and learning.
i am asking for prayers for my 16 year old nephew...he is in a severe depression (i believe clinically depressed) and has no diagnoses or medication for it. i do not know how to reach him, or how to get him help. he is very apathetic about almost everything...and as time goes by it gets worse and worse. i am worried about him. he spends most of his time in his room, sleeping. he literally sleeps about 14 to 16 hours per day...minimum. unless he is in school. my 19 year old son is trying to help him as best as he can...but...my son isn't much older and therefore doesn't know how to help. he does keep praying at church for his cousin, and has even asked the Pastor and the Pastor's son to pray with him.
wow, i kind of got seriously off topic. lol my Pastor would say that i started down one path and got off on a rabbit trail to another! lol i guess i will have to write about the sermons another time, as it is nearly my lights out now.

What ARE they thinking?! Jul 31, 2010 10:01 am

One of the school districts in Montana is trying to get a new sex ed reform to go through.
They want to teach kindergarten kids (that's 5 year olds!) the correct anatomical name for body parts.
They want to teach 1st graders (that's 6 year olds!) that love can happen between same sex couples and that homosexuality is ok. That goes completely against my families religious beliefs...I have twin nieces that are 7 years old, they just finished first grade...they are being taught in their church and in their home that homosexuality is an abomination in the eyes of God...and the school wants to teach them that it is OK?! talk about overstepping the parents rights!
Then, if that wasn't bad enough...they want to teach 5th graders (11 year olds) different positions and methods of penetration. WHAT!! Bad idea all the way around...I thought the goal was to lower teen pregnancy rates!
I praise God that my son is 19 and no longer a vulnerable school age child. If he was still in school, I am afraid I would have to pull him out of the state run school systems and home school him if this passed. My brother and sister-in-law do not have that option...as they have 5 kids, he works full time, and she is a full time student.
My question is...WHAT THE HECK ARE THEY THINKING!!!

my goodness what a busy summer this is turning into! first, vbs and all that went into that. now, i am switching schedules at work, which means that for the next 3 weeks i will be working between 52 and 45 hours per week! ugh! and, while in the process of working all this overtime...i will be moving from roundup to billings. granted, it is only 50 miles..but, boy what a difference that will make!

the best part of all...is with this schedule change, i will be able to start attending church again! i am excited about that!

this is kind of funny...this afternoon while i was at work, we had a tornado touch down in billings (not the funny part!) there was an alarm going off, and one of my residents (i work with developmentally delayed adults) started yelling "oh my gosh..it's a tomatoe warning! we gotta get to the basement!" lol then she screamed at the rain..."tomatoe go away, we don't want you here!"

lol i love my job!!

there were several business's that were damaged, but, praise God no one was hurt or killed!

today was the first day of my church's vacation bible school. it is the 5th year we have done vbs. today, we broke a first day record with having 73 kids in attendance! and praise God, 2 of those kids accepted salvation by asking Jesus into their hearts. it was a brother and sister pair...that had never attended church before!
as much as i enjoyed the day, and as busy as the rest of this week is going to be, it is all done for the honor and glory of God!

new arrival!! May 31, 2010 2:12 pm

praise the Lord...my brother and sister-in-law had a happy healthy..beautiful baby boy on Saturday 5/29. this is my brother's first child, and my sister-in-law's 5th child. my brother is walking on cloud 9! my new nephew weighed in at 6lbs 1oz and is 19 inches long!
i was blessed to be allowed to be at the hospital at the time he was born. i watched my brother after the birth, when the nurses were cleaning up the baby and my sister-in-law...i was so proud of him, because as soon as he got the announcement that they were both healthy and well the first thing my brother did was hit his knees in prayer, thanking the Lord for the baby and the safe delivery...as well as the health and well being of his wife. he is such a good servant of the Lord's. tears of joy flowed down my brother's face...down my face...down our parents face.
we are so truly blessed!
thank you Jesus for this healthy beautiful arrival!
