58 year old woman in Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States Looking For: Men for a dating relationship, marriage or a friend

Profile for goinghaywire
I am an ENFP (or sometimes an ENFJ) on the Meyers-Briggs: extroverted, intuitive, feeling, perceptive. I am an entertainer/comedienne (both professionally and avocationally) and a music teacher. I am definitely not laid-back although I enjoy many people who are. I am open to new adventures and new people. It was once buried on p.52 in the Rocky Mountain News that I am friendly, fun, funny, creative, witty, energetic, and hard-working. It was further reported that I am loyal, sincere, sensitive, and spontaneous but that I like some structure as well. I rely on the fact that everything I experience is for the purpose of being more and more conformed to the image of Christ. My relationship with Christ and inviting others into closer relationship with HIm is the most important aspect of my life. I love bringing life and laughter into the day of anyone I meet.

I live life in a large way; my enthusiams are endless. I especially like men who let their curiosity and their passion lead them into engaging with others in a personable, heart-felt way. I am attracted to men who are self-aware and not afraid to explore their inner world, but don't take themselves too seriously. I absolutely thrive on laughter and humor and yet love deep, connected conversation. How about you?

My Ideal Person:
I am open to what God has in mind. I have never been a woman who has pined away about not being married. Being involved in the world and God's tender, persistent, passionate romancing of the people in it is too huge and too exciting to ever be bored. I think I have a lot to offer to others; I am keenly interested in developing Christ-centered, solid friendships with men because that is the kernel from which deeper intimacy grows. I intend to stay open to God's leading regarding marriage and in that regard I am especially, but not exclusively, interested in a widower. With regard to marriage, it would be fairly difficult for me to relocate and would hope to connect with a man who realizes that relocating to Colorado would be so worth it!

Some of the qualities that I desire in a man are that he is: devoted to growing in his relationship with Christ and sharing Christ with others; a good listener and an engaged conversationalist who takes things to heart in his ever-deepening relationship with Christ; kind and considerate; honest and generous in spirit; fun-loving with a great sense of humor; a committed, life-long learner; and definitely conservative in his politics! (PS I have always longed for a man who loves to dance.)

And by the way, gee, guys, I really hate camping. I've tried to like it, I love being outdoors but I just can't sleep. My friends have even brought along a twin mattress in an enclosed camper for me and, you guessed it, the mission failed. And as far as athletics go, the only class I ever got a "C" in was Phys. Ed.

Please describe your faith. How important is your faith to you?
I grew up Catholic and went to grade school under the tutelage of Attila the Nun. (No offense to those who may be post-Vatican II...) Life was really tough in lots of ways - more on that if we tawk - and eventually I hit bottom. I accepted Christ in college but feel like I ended up exchanging one set of religious rules (church doctrines) for another (Christian disciplines.) I thought I knew God - and for years continued in that vein. Then in the last seven years I have experienced more pain and hardship than ever and have discovered that God has been and is wooing me to Himself through it all. I would not trade what I've been through for anything because God has made Himself so incredibly manifest to me. One of the verses that I have always leaned on is Phil. 2:13 - to me this is a great testimony to the all-encompassing nature of God's grace in our lives. He draws us, He keeps us, He prompts us, He enables us. I am also fond of Jude 1:21 - doesn't this sum up the essence of the Christian life? My favorite book of the Bible is Ephesians, especially Eph. 1: 3-14. I love the word "lavished" and indeed that is what God has done, lavished His grace on us.

Which Scripture verses are most important to you?
The above and also Hosea 2:14 - because that is what God has done in my life.

Why is a Christian relationship so important to you?
If a man and a woman are not better together than they are singly, there is no point in getting married. To be better together means that both of us are developing our own love relationship with Christ so that we will be able to love one another and others well. In general, you become like the company you keep.

Where did you grow up? Where have you traveled? What are some of your favorite places to visit?
St. Joseph's Hospital, Saturday, March 14th at 3:31:09 PM in Denver, CO - or something close to that. I have traveled throughout Europe and Scandinavia, Egypt and the Middle East, "down under" as the Aussies and Kiwis would say, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Canada, and Pueblo (that's about 45 miles south of here on I-25 and if you haven't been there you haven't been anywhere). I love botanical gardens, the Rocky mountains, and wandering around in really old cemeteries.

What are your favorite activities both at Church and outside?
What I love is reading great novels that captivate you with their engaging characters, delicious prose, and fascinating plots. I enjoy going to the theater, fine dining, Bible study, singing in a community vocal group, walking my dog, dancing, riding my three-wheeler, being out in nature and drinking in the beauty of God's creation (as long as sleeping bags are not involved), experimenting with ebaY, contemplating and discussing the wonders of God, writing, being around kids who are in their "golden years" (7-12), playing cribbage and other card, word and board games, watching and critiquing movies, anything artistic, and laughing.

What is your day like? Describe your daily routine.
Every day is different - I really enjoy variety and flexibility. I teach primarily in the afternoon and early evening hours. Other activities include vocal rehearsing and performances, Bible study, professional organization meetings, volunteering, exercise, Lectio Divina, worship and nurturing relationships.

What are some of your personal and spiritual goals?
I'd like to experience a walk-in closet sometime before I die. I'd like to memorize an entire book of Scripture. I'd like to have some writing published. I'd like to know what is is like to have a soulmate. I'd like to visit Alaska. I'd like to be the fragrance of life to those who are dying.
