I love people and good, deep, and meaningful conversation, although also enjoy spontaneity and silliness. My favorite places are churches, gardens, and libraries. I'm compassionate, optimistic, honest, intelligent, intellectually curious, articulate, and have a great sense of humor. A nice home and yard to garden and play in near urban amenities appeal to me. I consider myself a lifelong learner with a passion for reading, writing, and the discussion of ideas. Traveling, meeting new people, taking in beauty near and far are activities I enjoy. I'm a passionate, playful, romantic person who believes in improving the capacity for the life and well-being of all of God's children and this beautiful world, wherever possible. I have spent much time and effort over many years doing this--education, mental health, and community-building are some of the areas I've been involved in. I worked in the computer science area for several years before becoming a stay-at-home mom and raising two wonderful children, who are in their 20s, employed, and successfully maintaining their own households.
My Ideal Person:
I am looking for a special guy with whom to share my life--someone who enjoys physical closeness and a meeting of the mind and soul. Race is not important to me, but I prefer someone living in the U.S. I have never smoked and seek someone who does not use tobacco and is not addicted to drugs, alcohol, etc. I am emotionally stable and want a partner who is likewise. Share with me what you love to do, what sets you afire, and I will do the same! It is in so doing that we may find we're made for each other...

Please describe your faith. How important is your faith to you?
My Christian faith is very important to me. I've always been very religious and spiritual and attended church weekly. It motivates how I look at everything and how I interact with others--everyone is a child of God and deserves to be treated as such. I get along with people of all faiths or no faith and enjoy discussing theological issues.
Which Scripture verses are most important to you?
I cherish Scripture. There are many verses that really speak to me. One of my favorites is "Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares." Hebrews 13:2
Another is "He has showed you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?" Micah 6:8
Still another is "For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall understand fully, even as I have been fully understood. So faith, hope, love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love." 1 Corinthians 13:12-13
May I sneak in one more? "...work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for God is at work in you..." Philippians 2:12b-13a
Where did you grow up? Where have you traveled? What are some of your favorite places to visit?
I grew up in a small town in southeast Pennsylvania, about one and one-half hours from Philadelphia. I've traveled to a number of different states in the U.S., including Alaska, Hawaii, California, Montana, Colorado, and Florida, and currently live in Missouri (since 1976). I've traveled abroad to countries in Western and Eastern Europe and also to Australia.
What are your favorite activities both at Church and outside?
I value good sermons and enjoy small-group Bible Study. Methodists are known for wonderful potluck dinners, and it's always fun to fellowship at a good meal. I enjoy dining out, good movies, theatre, baseball games, and visiting botanical gardens, zoos, and museums. If you were here with me right now, I just might want to read you a favorite story, show you a gorgeous flower, or plan with you a trip to one of the most interesting, stimulating, or beautiful places on God's green earth! And, of course, I'd love for you to share your story and tell me about what you hold dear.
