To me, being a Christian defines my life in every way. Since I found Him at the ripe old age of sixteen, all that I am about is knowing God more intimately and knowing who I am in His Son, the Lord Jesus. I haven't perfected the art of being in His will every day of my life, but that is where I want to be headed.
My past relationships have taught me that being the right person is so much more important than finding the right person. But even so, it takes two people committed to keeping love and passion alive, one person can not keep the relationship healthy. And certainly, only when both make God the center of their relationship and the center of their individual lives, will the relationship be the paradise that God designed for man and wife to enjoy for a lifetime.
One day, I hope to remarry and become a partner in ministry opportunities with a man who loves God more than he loves me or anything else in his life. If that doesn't happen, I hope to continue to serve God where I am and keep my focus on becoming the woman that God wants me to be so that maybe some day, He will fulfill my desire to be married and a helpmeet to a man who runs hard after God's own heart and His purposes for our life together.
One more thing you should know about me: I have a beautiful daughter attending a Christian college as a senior, who loves God with all that she has been given. I have a son who just graduated from high school, and another son who is a sophomore in high school. It's my responsibility to see that I finish well in this task of parenting them into adulthood, and I pray daily for God's grace in helping me to do so. They are great kids and I'm extremely blessed, but it is not easy to be mom and dad when God never intended or designed me to be a father to my children. That is why it's so great to know from His Word that He is father to the fatherless.
My Ideal Person:
I want to meet a man who runs hard after God's own heart. I want to give myself to love and partner with that man in fulfilling whatever ministry opportunities God has for us for the rest of our days this side of Heaven. I'm looking for a man who loves God more than he loves anyone or anything, and is seeking to know God as He intends for us to know Him on a daily basis. Jesus told us that the best way - and the way that God commands us to live - is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, and to love your neighbor as you love yourself. I want to live my life that way, and I want to be with a man who loves God with all of his heart, soul, mind and strength. And then, he loves and cares for me the same way that he loves and cares for himself.
